Helping Hand For The Elderly People

The elderly people, who were so active in their younger days, do require someone to take care for their daily chores. They may be reluctant in accepting the fact that they are no more as agile as they used to be in their younger age but the fact remains fact that they need the services of live-in carer. These are the people who are there in your home itself to help you in your daily activities.

What is the role of a carer?

• Working as a care taker: You are supposed to give complete support to the elderly person. It could be a tedious job requiring a lot of patience. You must consider the fact that you have to take care of the elderly person as the mother takes care for his new born child. All this hard work gets reciprocated by a smiling face, by a warm hug of the elderly person which may be followed by the warm tears coming out from the eyes of the elderly person as a mark of gratitude for your services.  
  
  
• Working as medical attendant: You as a carer may have to play the role of a medical attendant taking care of the medication as prescribed by the medical consultant. You may be required to do some massage of the person too. You may consider this work as holy and pious as going to the church after all you are doing the work of God. You should remember that you will also require the help of a person when you reach this age.
